The International Conference on Sustainable Research and Development (ICSRD-25) was organized by LPPM Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Yogyakarta and Research Synergy Foundation, and co-hosted by Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), the Municipality of Pulilan, Bulacan, Philippines, and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Cawangan Sabah, Malaysia. The conference brought together scholars from agriculture and food, sustainable economy and social sciences, and engineering and technology to share research and build collaboration across disciplines and borders.

The papers in this volume examine sustainability through the places, heritage, and systems that shape everyday life. What sets this volume apart is its integration of place-based cultural heritage with economic, technical, and policy analysis. Rather than treating heritage as a separate field, the papers examine how cultural assets, digital platforms, and institutional design together shape sustainable outcomes. The participation of co-hosts in the Philippines and Malaysia further extends this discussion beyond a single national context.
